Poker Tournaments & Poker Rooms in Las Vegas

Need information about Las Vegas poker tournaments and poker rooms in Las Vegas?  Poker is alive and well in Las Vegas and many casinos are expanding their poker rooms with the rising popularity of the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour both of which hold their championships in Las Vegas.  Binion's Horseshoe hosts the World Series of Poker tournament in May, and Bellagio hosts the World Poker Tour championship in April.

The casinos listed below are some of the best places for poker in Las Vegas.  There is a poker tournament going on at one of these casinos every day.  The daily and weekly tournaments generally have buy-ins ranging from about $40 to $2,000.

The most popular Las Vegas poker games are Texas Hold 'em, Seven Card Stud poker and Omaha poker.  Whether you play small stakes or high stakes poker games, there is a poker table for you.

On the Las Vegas Strip

Bellagio

The Bellagio Casino has one of the most luxurious poker rooms in Las Vegas.  There are 30 tables with plans to add 5 or 6 tables over the next year.  Texas Hold 'em and 7 Card Stud poker are popular here.  Wednesdays and Fridays are big poker tournament days.  Bellagio also hosts the annual Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in November/December (a stop on the World Poker Tour), the Bellagio Festa al Lago Poker Tournament in June/July, and the Five Star World Poker Classic in April.  The World Poker Tour Championship is a part of the Five Star World Poker Classic.  For more information on Bellagio including the poker room, see Bellagio.

Circus Circus

The Circus Circus poker room is small but popular and located near the main entrance to the casino.  The poker room has 10 tables and is a good place to find low limit poker games and poker tournaments.

Excalibur

The Excalibur poker room offers Seven Card Stud, Texas Hold 'Em, Hi-Lo Split, and Omaha poker games.  They also offer free poker lessons.

Luxor

The Luxor is a popular poker room dealing mostly low limit Texas Hold'em and Seven Card Stud.  Players will find daily Texas Hold'em tournaments as well as regular freeroll tournaments for frequent players.

Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay hosts a 10 table poker room primarily dealing Texas Hold 'em and 7 Card Stud poker.

Mirage

Palms

The Palms has two poker rooms.  The low limit poker room primarily deals Texas Hold'em poker with spreads of $2 - $4 and $4 - $8.  The high stakes poker room deals $9 - $18 Texas Hold'em and No Limit Texas Hold'em with larger spread games upon request.  The high stakes poker room also features upgraded poker tables and plasma televisions showing race and sporting events.  Both of the poker rooms offer progressive High Hand Jackpots that start at $50.00.  Seven Card Stud and Omaha poker games will be dealt upon request.

Rio Hotel
The Rio Hotel Casino has a small poker room with 10 tables located in the middle of the sports book.  The games are mostly Texas Hold'em ($2-$3, $2-$5, $3-$6 and $4-$8) with some Omaha and Seven Card Stud poker games.  Look for daily poker tournaments at noon.  The Rio is also host to the annual World Series of Poker.  For more information on the Rio and its poker room, see Rio Hotel.

The Sahara offers Texas Hold'em poker with spreads of $2 - $4 and up.  You can find no limit Texas Hold'em poker tournaments every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday at 7 p.m. with a $40 buy-in.

Sunset Station's poker room has 12 poker tables dealing Texas Hold'em, 7 Card Stud, and Omaha Hi.  There are free poker lessons on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and Mondays at 11:00 a.m.  The casino offers regular Texas Hold'em poker tournaments.  Ladies only poker tournaments are held on the last Sunday of every month at 3:00 p.m.
