Melbourne Poker Championship

Crown Casino Melbourne Poker Championship

The Melbourne Poker Championship in Australia is one of the Crown Casino's annual poker tournaments.  The Melbourne Poker Championship takes place in May in Melbourne Australia at the Crown Casino poker room.  This is one of Australia's most popular poker tournaments along with the Australian Poker Championship ("Aussie Millions") which is also hosted by the Crown Casino in January.

The Crown Casino Melbourne Poker Championship is generally scheduled around the middle two weeks of May and includes about a dozen individual poker tournaments primarily consisting of no limit Texas Holdem poker tournaments and Omaha poker tournaments as well as one H.O.R.S.E. poker tournament (Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi Lo, Razz Poker, 7 Card Stud Poker & 7 Card Stud Hi Lo).  There are a few variations on the traditional Texas Holdem poker tournament including a "Teams" event, a "Terminator" event, a six handed poker tournament, and a PokerPro tournament.

The Melbourne Poker Championship Tournaments also include a high stake poker tournament - a no limit Texas Holdem poker tournament with a AUD $5,000 buy-in.  The other tournaments in the Melbourne Poker Championship typically have buy-ins ranging from $150 to $500.

The main event no limit Texas Holdem Melbourne Poker Championship is a $1,000 buy-in tournament and usually draws over 600 entries for a poker tournament prize pool in excess of $600,000.

Satellite tournaments to the Melbourne Poker Championship main event are held in the Crown Casino poker room throughout the tournament schedule according to demand.

Following is the typical schedule for the Crown Casino Melbourne Poker Championship Tournaments.  Check with the Crown Casino poker room prior to each tournament to confirm tournament dates and times.
