PokerRoom

PokerRoomPokerRoom began offering play money poker games in 1999 and migrated to real money games in 2001.  The PokerRoom software is a little different from most in that it comes in both a download version for Windows as well as a no-download Java version that works with computers running Mac, Unix, and Windows.  The graphics and play in all versions are very nice.  No matter which software version a player chooses, everybody plays against each other and the same games and tournaments are available.  The other thing that distinguishes PokerRoom is that they offer casino games other than poker.

PokerRoom Games
PokerRoom offers the basic poker games with Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud.  PokerRoom also offers some traditional casino games including blackjack, Let it Ride, video poker, roulette, craps, pai gow, baccarat, and slots.  PokerRoom also offers Chinese Poker, a poker game played with between two to four players where each player gets thirteen cards to arrange into three hands (two five card hands and one three card hand), with the objective of arranging a set of hands that will beat the corresponding hands of the other players.

PokerRoom Tournaments
PokerRoom offers an assortment of daily multi-table and single table poker tournaments as well as freeroll tournaments at which players can use their Player Points.  Most poker tournament buy-ins are in the range of $5 to $30.  Players will also find weekly and monthly tournaments with typical buy-ins of $100 to $300.  Most of the poker tournaments are limit and no limit Texas Hold'em with some less frequent Omaha and 7 Card Stud tournaments.

PokerRoom Payments: PokerRoom deposit options include MasterCard, Visa, Switch, Solo, Neteller, FirePay, PrePaid ATM, Visa, Delta, and Moneybookers.

PokerRoom Promotions: PokerRoom uses a Player Point system.  Players earn poker points or casino points based on their play which can then be redeemed for things such as freeroll tournaments.  PokerRoom also gives cash prizes to the players accumulating the most points for the day.
