U.S. Poker Championship     Trump Taj Mahal

The Trump Taj Mahal U.S. Poker Championship is held annually in September and October at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  This is a popular tournament at one of the most active poker rooms in Atlantic City.  The tournament, first held in 1996, regularly draws many of the top world poker players.  ESPN has a five year deal to televise the US Poker Championship beginning with the 2004 tournament.

The Trump U.S. Poker Championship consists of just over two weeks of daily poker tournaments.  The poker games include limit and no limit Texas Hold'em, Seven Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo.  The buy-in for most of the poker tournaments is in the range of $300 to $2,500.  The final poker tournament is a four day $10,000 ($9,700 + 300) no limit Texas Hold'em Championship.

The Trump Taj Mahal poker room usually begins holding weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) super satellite tournaments about five months prior to the U.S. Poker Championship.  Daily super satellite tournaments generally start about a month prior to the beginning of the U.S. Poker Championship tournaments.

The 2005 Trump Taj Mahal U.S. Poker Championship tournaments begin on September 19, with a limit Texas Hold'em poker tournament.  The buy-ins for the first week of tournaments are $300 and $500.  Things heat up the second week with some $1,000 poker tournaments and a $2,500 Seven Card Stud tournament.

The main event of the U.S. Poker Championship is the four day no limit Texas Hold'em Championship which begins on October 4th.

The Trump Taj Mahal poker room will hold Super Satellite tournaments to the main event beginning in April.

Below is the 2005 Trump Taj Mahal U.S. Poker Championship tournament schedule.  Poker tournaments usually start at 11:00 a.m. except for the Championship tournament, but call the Trump Taj Mahal Casino to check on times - (800) 72POKER.
