The World Series of Poker tournament schedule begins during the last days of May with daily poker tournaments that continue through the middle of July and conclude with the World Series of Poker Championship poker tournament. There are typically about 45 World Series of Poker tournaments for various poker games including Texas Holdem, Omaha poker, Seven Card Stud Poker, Razz poker, and a H.O.R.S.E poker tournament (Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi Lo, Razz Poker, 7 Card Stud Poker & 7 Card Stud Hi Lo).

The World Series of Poker tournaments generally have buy-ins ranging from $1,500 to $5,000 with a significant number of $10,000 buy-in World Championship poker tournaments. The World Series of Poker schedule typically includes a Pot Limit Texas Holdem World Championship, a Seven Card Stud World Series of Poker Championship, a Mixed Event World Poker Championship, a Ladies no limit Texas Holdem World Series Poker Championship, a Heads Up no limit Texas Holdem Poker World Championship, a Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better World Series of Poker Championship, a limit Texas Holdem World Series Poker Championship, an Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better World Poker Championship, a Seniors no limit Texas Holdem World Championship, a H.O.R.S.E World Poker Championship, and a pot limit Omaha World Poker Championship.
