Harrahs World Series of Poker Tournaments

Harrah's Entertainment is building on the popularity of the World Series of Poker with the 2005 inaugural World Series of Poker Tournament Circuit.  Beginning in January, Harrahs will host a tournament each month leading up to the 2005 World Series of Poker in June and July.  Each tournament will be held at a different Harrahs casino property and will be televised on ESPN.

Players will earn points based on their performance in the WSOP circuit tournaments and the World Series of Poker.  The top 100 point-earners will receive a free invitation to the 2005 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions. 

The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions will take place soon after the conclusion of the World Series of Poker Championship event.  The 2005 WSOP Tournament of Champions will be held at the Rio Las Vegas and the winner will take home a prize of $2 million.

Jack Binion will serve as host of the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions.  Jack Binion hosted the original World Series of Poker in 1970 when he was President of Binion's Horseshoe, the casino founded by his legendary and colorful father Benny Binion.  Jack Binion later founded Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp. which operated some of the most hospitable casinos in the South and Midwest U.S.
